The University of California San Diego School of Medicine is the graduate medical school of the university of sand diego in La Jolla, California. It was the third medical school in the University of California system and is the only medical school in the San Diego metropolitan area.
Located on the main campus of the University in La Jolla, the School of Medicine is surrounded by academic resources and research institutions representing a variety of disciplines. Clinical instruction takes place throughout the San Diego area, at the UC San Diego Medical Center, the VA San Diego Healthcare System, the Naval Regional Medical Center, and the Rady Children's Hospital San Diego, as well as seven other affiliated hospitals and clinics.
